Akshay Kumar hosts Wheel of Fortune with Manav Khosla, Ashu Jain, and Nishant Chobey. Manav’s wife Mukta hilariously asks Akshay to find a girlfriend for her party-loving husband.
Leave it to a game show to deliver a plot twist no one saw coming. The upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune promises not just puzzles and prize money, but a moment that left host Akshay Kumar visibly shocked and the audience in splits.
Akshay, who is currently hosting the Indian adaptation of the globally popular format Wheel of Fortune, welcomed three contestants on the show: Manav Khosla, an HR consultant from New Delhi; Ashu Jain, a fitness influencer from Dehradun; and Nishant Chobey, a chef from Jharkhand. During the interaction, Akshay noticed Manav’s cheerful energy and asked him the reason behind it. Manav responded candidly, “Main khush isliye hoon kyunki main joru ka gulam hoon (I am happy because I listen to my wife)!” The remark drew laughter from the set.
Curious, Akshay asked, “Aapki joru kahaan hain (Where is your wife)?” Turning to Mukta, he teased, “Yeh aapke gulam hain (Does he listen to you)?” Mukta smiled and clarified that her husband was not just her “gulam,” but also her ‘sirtaj (crown)’. Adding to the humour, Manav admitted that his wife is his boss at work too, as he is employed at her company.Akshay praised Manav for having a talented partner, but Mukta had more to share. She spoke about her husband’s vibrant fashion sense and his passion for music ranging from Bollywood tracks to electronic beats. Calling him a complete party enthusiast, she joked that she often has to accompany him everywhere.
The conversation took an unexpected turn when Mukta revealed that she was looking for a ‘girlfriend’ for her husband, someone who could join him at parties and share his love for music. The statement caught Akshay off guard. Reacting instantly, he exclaimed, “Mere kaan phat kyun nahi gaye? Dharti khul kyun nahi rahi, hum sama kyun nahi gaye (Why are my ears not bleeding)!”
Mukta then turned to the host with a playful request, “Aapse nivedan hai, koi ho toh batayiye (It is my request if you are able to find someone.” Akshay responded with a laugh, “Main dhoondhu? Ab maine yeh kaam bhi shuru kar diya hai? Aap galat aadmi se pooch rahe ho (I shall find? Now I am to be expected to do this also? You are asking the wrong person)!”The show, which premiered on Sony TV and SonyLIV on January 27, features contestants spinning a giant wheel to win prize money before solving word puzzles to increase their earnings.
On the film front, Akshay will next be seen in Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, and co-starring Paresh Rawal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
