Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI: Making A ‘MEN’tal Note On How The Boys Stole The Show

From The Boy’s Club To AK|OK Anamika Khanna’s closing show, Day 1 saw menswear take over Lakmē Fashion Week

The Dapper, Desi man took over Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI with fashion designers celebrating menswear on Day

Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI, which kicked off on March 19, 2026, at Jio World Convention Centre, saw showcases by The Boy’s Club, CHOLA, L’Atelier 1664 x Abraham & Thakore, Kartik Research and AK|OK Anamika Khanna.

Fluid silhouettes, sharp tailoring, layered styling, and captivating colours together celebrated menswear on the runway. If Kartik Research explored Indian embroidery, Anamika Khanna painted a colourful story on canvas. Each statement piece narrated the designer’s vision, setting the tone for 2026.

Here’s what the Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI runway looked like on Day 1.

Menswear has definitely moved to the forefront instead of just being a filler in designer collections. The Boy’s Club, an FDCI curation, saw some of the best menswear designers, Countrymade, Dhruv Vaish, Sahil Aneja and Vivek Karunakaran, showcase their collection on the runway.

Actor Siddharth opened for Chennai-based designer Vivek Karunkaran, who showcased his collection ‘Thangam’. Who said a kanjeevaram is only reserved for a saree? Vivek gave his own creative spin to the regal textile and created ceremonial pieces that stood out on the runway.

The Boys definitely knew what men want, and yes, the pieces will definitely work for women too.

Giving India and Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI an experience with his showcase was the young, very talented Kartik Kumra of Kartik Research. Rooted in culture, craft and contemporary styling, the collection’s embroidered narrative gave the right amount of edge to menswear.

Celebrated fashion designers Anamika Khanna, David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore had an interesting take on menswear this season. Abraham & Thakore collaborated with L’Atelier and showcased an array of statement ensembles, which also included fluid, relaxed silhouettes for men. Anamika’s added a statement-worthy menswear range to AK|OK’s narrative. Thus making it a perfect addition to the modern man’s wardrobe.

Lakmē Fashion Week X FDCI is on till March 22, 2026 and will present showcases by Amit Aggarwal, Pero, Rahul Mishra, Payal Pratap, Samant Chauhan, Shruti Sancheti, Aisha Rao, Ritika Mirchandani, Satya Paul x Aditi Rao Hydari, Line Outline, Jajaabor, and Bhumika Sharma, among others.
